A former attorney for a now-defunct Upland law firm that represented police officers and gained notoriety for alleged unethical conduct has drawn scrutiny for running for Superior Court judge in two California counties.
In San Bernardino County, Rancho Cucamonga resident Dieter Carlos Dammeier, now an administrative law judge who is currently not practicing law, faces Michelle Lauron, a supervising deputy district attorney, in Tuesday’s primary election.

Jakarta. In a landmark decision on Thursday, the Constitutional Court ruled against the appointment of executives from any political party to the position of the attorney general.

An investigation is underway after an explosive device was detonated outside the office of the Alabama attorney general this weekend, officials said.
No one was hurt in the Saturday morning incident in Montgomery, Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall said in a statement on Monday.
“The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency will be leading the investigation, and we are urging anyone with information to contact them immediately,” Marshall said.
